DRIVERS’ Medicals

In THe North EAST

As I am no longer able to satisfy all of the General Medical Council’s requirements to maintain a licence to practice I Am Retiring somewhat earlier than I intended - 16th july 2018

Doctors are required to have a licence to practice in order to perform virtually any medical work. Even though I do not practice medicine in the accepted sense this applies to me.

Maintaining a licence to practice, which lasts 5 years, entails having an annual appraisal. This is time consuming and expensive.

I am expected to participate in various activities which bear no relationship to the work I do.

I can no longer satisfy some of the requirements so I’m compelled to retire earlier than I had planned.
